Our Military Readiness Team (MRT) has extensive experience working on Department of Defense structures, both in the contiguous United States and abroad.
We are certified SSPC QS 1, QP 1, and QP 2 contractors. Those certifications are a requirement for DoD work contracted under the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications 09 97 13.15 Low VOC Polysulfide Interior Coating of Welded Steel Petroleum Fuel Tanks, 09 97 13.17 Three Coat Epoxy Interior Coating of Welded Steel Petroleum Fuel Tanks, and 09 97 13.27 Exterior Coating of Steel Structures. The MRT ensures we have SSPC Qualified C-7 Dry Abrasive Blasters, Coating Application Specialists (CAS), and C-14 Marine Plural Component Program applicators ready to deploy in support of projects subject to the UFGS.

We understand the unique nature of DoD projects, and the accompanying requirements for personnel vetting, base access, submittals, special site needs, and the challenges that come with use of UFGS mandated materials. Champion has a successful track record of recommending, justifying, and obtaining U.S. Government approval for variances to those coatings materials based on factors such as geographic location, environmental conditions, or product availability. These options enable custom solutions and cost savings and increased profit for our clients.
